The Artist

I’m Ahmed Mowgoud — an artist and designer who lives and works between Cairo and Dubai.

I’m self-taught and endlessly curious. Over eighteen years I’ve worked with my hands and my eyes across upholstery, visual design, and digital product design, always chasing craft and the small details most people walk past. Mowgoud is where that obsession with detail meets my love of paper, ink, and print.

This collection began with a fascination for the vintage postage stamp — those tiny, overlooked works of art that once travelled the world pinned to an envelope. In my studio I redraw and recolour them by hand, reimagining each one as a contemporary, limited-edition piece. Every print is made with archival giclée inks on 650 gsm handmade French paper, float-mounted in a white frame, and signed and numbered by me.

I work in both Arabic and English, and I care deeply about provenance: every piece is produced in a fixed, closed edition and arrives with a certificate of authenticity. These are objects made to be kept — and to carry a little of the warmth, wear, and story of the originals that inspired them.
